Professor Guido Rasi is the Executive Director of the European Medicines Agency. He started his second term in November 2015, but has held the position since 2011. The professor was Director-General of the Italian Medicines Agency from 2008 to 2011 and member of its Management Board from 2004 to 2008; and also the Director of the Institute of Molecular Medicine of the National Research Council in Rome from 2005 to 2008. For fifteen years prior, he worked at the Institute for Experimental Medicine of the National Research Council in Italy. He holds a degree in medicine and surgery, with specialisation in internal medicine, allergology and clinical immunology, from the University of Rome. He has authored more than 100 scientific publications.
